Free Wood to Home Owner’s
A Free service for those who wish to process their own logs and rounds
We are a local cooperative of Portland Arborists offering to give a way our wood to local home owners in the metro area. We have been giving a way wood to home owners through an informal network for years but in 2018 decided to start this website to create a easy way for Portlander’s to request wood.
1. Put in a request for logs or rounds or both by clicking the “Get Free Wood” button below and filling out the form. There is no other way to get on list besides filling out the form. IMPORTANT: This wood requires processing so you will likely need a chainsaw and our smallest load is a 10ft flat bed truck with 5 ft sides so you will need to take al least that must wood.
2.When our arborists need to drop a load of wood we text the closest 10-20 people with a short description of the load usually the type of wood. The first person to say Yes get the load.
3. Once you agree to the load you can request a general eta and you need to be ready to accept the load. If a load is refused it will be harder to get loads in the future as your hisotry will show a refused load.
4. If the load is successful we will keep you on our list for more wood. You can put your account on pause at any time just by texting us when you would like to start receiving wood load text again.
